Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education
At Dropmore Infant School we have introduced a whole school PSHE scheme called Jigsaw. Jigsaw is a comprehensive and completely original PSHE programme and it brings together PSHE, emotional literacy, mindfulness, social skills and spiritual development.
Jigsaw has two main aims for all children-
- To build their capacity for learning
- To equip them for life
PSHE at Dropmore
All children at Dropmore Infant School will follow the Jigsaw scheme. It is a whole school approach, with children in each year group working on the same half termly theme (puzzle) at the same time (sequentially ordered from September to July). Each year group is taught one lesson per week and all lessons are delivered in an age and stage appropriate way so that they meet the needs of all children.
Please see more detail below regarding some of the things that the children will learn as part of each half termly puzzle-
Relationships and Health Education
Recently, the Department for Education (DfE) have made the Relationships and Health Education aspects of PSHE compulsory in all Primary Schools. At Dropmore Infant School, we deliver statutory Relationships and Health Education through our PSHE curriculum.
