Buckinghamshire Family Information Service (BFIS)

The Buckinghamshire Family Information Service (BFIS) provides free information, advice and support on a wide range of topics that may affect your family. This includes activities, events and services for children up to the age of 19 (25 with a disability).

The Buckinghamshire Council's new Family Support Service will offer support, services and activities for local families from a network of 16 new family centres, spread across the county over three locality areas. The service will also provide more targeted, specially tailored help for families with more complex challenges.

Family Support Service provides non-judgemental advice and support to families who need extra help to overcome challenges and get back on track. They can offer:

  • Parenting support
  • Managing challenging behaviour
  • Improve school attendance
  • Help accessing SEND support
  • Help securing work
  • Help with managing budgets or debt
  • Support with health issues including drugs and alcohol misuse
