School Day

MORNING ROUTINE

8:45-8:55am KISS & DROP

  • The playground is monitored from 8:45am every morning.
  • Children should be dropped off at the 5-bar gate and will make their way to their classroom immediately and independently.
  • On arrival they will wash their hands and choose a morning activity. The class teacher and TA also use the time for interventions, pre-learning, revision and individual reading.
  • Morning register is taken at 9am and lessons start promptly after.

Please give your child the best possible start to the day by arriving at school before 9:00am.

Children arriving at or after 9am will miss the beginning of the lesson and are often unsettled and not ready to learn.

NOTE: We closely monitor attendance and punctuality and will only accept traffic and parking as acceptable reasons in exceptional circumstances.

EXTENSION TO THE SCHOOL DAY
As a small rural school, our opening times reflect the need for families to travel to the school whilst also ensuring siblings can be taken and collected from other local schools.  We have submitted our opening times to the Local Authority and will follow any guidance, including parent consultation on different timings in line with the Schools White Paper - Opportunity for All (DfE 2022)
