Assemblies

Every Friday the whole school gathers together in the hall for a celebration assembly. During this assembly, 3 children from each class are invited to share their work and celebrate their achievements in front of the whole school and their parents. During this assembly we also hand out a range of certificates: Kindness Awards, Headteacher's Awards, Writer of the Week, Mathematician of the Week and Assembly Certificates.

We also hold a range of other assemblies throughout the school year. Some are linked to our concept curriculum topics, others are chosen linked to religious festivals such as Diwali or Christmas, and others are linked to special weeks and events during the year e.g. Children In Need

All our assemblies include an act of collective worship at the end. This is a time for reflection during which the children may reflect on the theme for the week and may listen to music, hear literature, listen to a prayer or have quiet reflection time. We carry out collective worship daily (either in class or during assembly)

If you do not wish for your child to take part in the daily collective worship, please contact Miss Douglas or Mrs Waugh.
