Assemblies

Every day the whole school gathers together in the school hall for an assembly, usually from 10.30 -10:45 am.

We have a range of assembly themes – some linked to our concept curriculum topics, others are chosen linked to religious festivals such as Diwali or Christmas, and others are linked to special weeks and events during the year e.g. Children In Need

Our assembly order is:

Monday – News assembly where the weekly theme is introduced

Tuesday – Music assembly

Wednesday – PHSE/Wellbeing assembly

Thursday – RE/worship assembly

On Fridays, the children enjoy a celebration assembly with Mrs Streete where we focus on the achievements the children have accomplished at school.

Throughout the week, children enter assemblies listening to different musical genres and they are given information about the artists and composers.

Part of our assemblies include an act of daily collective worship. This is a reflective 5 minutes at the end of each assembly. During this the children reflect on the theme for the week and may listen to music, hear literature, listen to a prayer or have quiet reflection time.

If you do not wish for your child to take part in the daily collective worship, please contact Mrs Streete.

Please note – due to coronavirus, we are not holding whole school assemblies. Assemblies and collective worship are held within their classes.
