Christmas Party

18th December 2017
On Monday 18th December the children were arriving in school in their party clothes, carrying plates and bags with food and drink. That could only mean one thing: Christmas party!

The morning was spent making party hats. Reception decorated their own Christmas tree hats, Year 1 had a Santa stuck up the chimney and Year 2 made a snow crown with a repeating pattern. The hats were finished just in time for the party to start. The children enjoyed a 3 course extravaganza of savoury snacks, followed by sweet snacks and finished with ice cream and jelly.

To complement their hats, Year 1 performed the poem 'When Santa got stuck up the chimney' for the rest of the school. While staff cleared the hall ready for party games, the children had a run around outside. Back in the hall, the class groups sat down for a traditional game of pass the parcel. To our surprise, Santa arrived with a bag of gifts for the lucky children of Dropmore!
